LITPOLUKRBRIG training is divided into stages of individual and collective training, participation in international exercises and supplementary training. Each stage focuses on improving soldiers’ operational capabilities, which can be used as part of future operations implemented in an international environment. Collective training includes workshops, battle staff trainings, seminars with the practical use of doctrines, techniques and procedures.
The purpose of the above specified undertakings is to maintain the operational capabilities of the Brigade Staff, thus meeting the requirements of the Founding Nations. The majority of the abovementioned activities are carried out with the attendance of affiliated to LITPOLUKRBRIG units as well as in cooperation with soldiers of the US National Guards of Illinois, California, and Pennsylvania.
Every training cycle is summed up through participation in international exercises which allows checking and testing the skills of the Brigade personnel. Over the past five years, the Brigade Command has participated in the RAPID TRIDENT Exercise, organized by the United States Army and the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the allied forces, as well as the MAPLE ARCH Exercise, rotationally organized by Canada, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. In addition, the Brigade Staff participated in the AGILE SPIRIT Exercise, organized by the United States Army, the Georgian Armed Forces and the allied forces, which took place in Georgia. Furthermore, the Brigade soldiers have taken part in numerous exercises organized, among others in Greece, Bulgaria and Poland gaining experience and thereby increasing the international obligations of LITPOLUKRBRIG.
In addition to numerous training undertakings, LITPOLUKRBRIG has been involved in the training of Ukrainian soldiers as part of the Joint Multinational Training Group - Ukraine - JMTG-U. JMTG-U is a multinational task force operating under the leadership of the United States Army, whose primary mission is to advise and assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces in developing operational capabilities in accordance with NATO military standards. The training is carried out by means of a rotational system. LITPOLUKRBRIG has been involved in the project since 2019. The main task is to act as advisers/mentors to military instructors of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Furthermore, LITPOLUKRBRIG has developed and conducted independently the Brigades/battalion Staff Officers Course (BNSOC) for the brigades and battalions staff officers of the Ukrainian Army in the Military Decision Making Process. The project was initiated by the Coordination Group and then implemented for use in 2018.
